A portion of the exterior window facade that is two stories high and the length of the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa in Wellington, New Zealand. The wall of windows, some transparent, some colored with opaque enamel paint on glass panels was designed by Milan Mrkusich. The opaque colors include light blue, medium blue, dark blue, orange and red. The graphic artwork brightens the dark beige brick wall. At the top of the brick wall are two of the triangular holes in the underside of a black roof. The building was designed by Ivan Mercep.

Here's a break from all the birds... this is a Mexican Cactus Fly seen on my walk today. I've never noticed one before. #insects 📸

A mostly black fly with large purplish eyes sits on a flower head nectaring. We see mostly translucent wings hanging down with just a bit of amber on the edges. There are two white spots on her thorax but otherwise she's black, including legs and antennae. Small yellow and white flowers on green stems fill the frame otherwise.

Rocks tumble down this trail even without an earthquake. The hiking trail cuts through piles of fallen rocks with large, loose rocks on the left and the steep, rocky-gorge wall on the right. The trail indicates that the rocks in the path have been ground down to smaller sizes. Dark green vegetation grows on both sides of the trail and on the mountains in the distance. It's a cloudy day. Froom Creek Trail in the Irish Hills in San Luis Obispo, California.

Large, rounded grey boulders dominate the lower half of the frame. They are piled haphazardly on top of one another, creating deep, dark gaps between them. Their surfaces are weathered, rough, and partially covered with patches of pale green lichen and dark green moss.
