The stone cascade at Virginia Water Cascade, where water tumbles down a series of broad, stepped rocks into a dark pool below. The waterfall is surrounded by lush green woodland, with sunlight filtering through the leafy canopy above. Built in the 18th century as part of the landscaped park around Virginia Water Lake in Windsor Great Park, the cascade was designed to look like a natural waterfall and remains one of the park’s most photographed features.

The canal has a gentle curve to the right and disappears out of view behind some canal side scrub. It was a slightly misty morning and both the sky and the canal were orange/yellow in colour. An orange un is visible behind some bare tree branches on the left hand side of the canal. The water is still apart from a few ripples towards the bottom left corner of the image that slightly distort the reflected tree branches in this part of the image.
