The original #Luxar thread is way too long and most people missed most demos, so I will be slow-dripping demos in the next weeks... Here is how you can annotate anything drawn and have text, images, videos overlays displayed on-hover or links opened on-click!

AI has become such a powerful tool, enabling entire areas of science and biology. I got to talk about this as part of a new PBS special on how AI and biotech are transforming medicine. Overall, the documentary is quite interesting! It's worth a watch! www.pbs.org/video/data-c...

Even with all the advancements in automated cell tracking getting us to 90%+ accuracy...that's still a lot of broken tracks over long movies! Our brains are pretty good at this so I made Vizsla 🐕, a little @napari.org plugin, to help you fix your tracks manually. 👉 pypi.org/project/napa...

1/ 🧬🧪 New preprint! Do you actually need a biology-specific foundation model to predict how cells respond to perturbations? Surprising answer: a general-purpose tabular model - never trained on a single cell - matches or beats the specialists. 🧵 📄 doi.org/10.64898/2026.06.28.735106 @biohub

Mind-bender: The observable universe has ~10^80 atoms. But even a simple 1000×1000 black‑and‑white image has 2^{1,000,000} ≈ 10^{301,030} possibilities — and 24‑bit color explodes to ~10^{7,224,720}. The space of (small) images dwarfs the cosmos. 🔬🧪💻
