I’m here in lovely Indianapolis to present at the preconference session for #ASBH24 American Society of Bioethics + Humanities. Like all venues, but especially this one, I HIGHLY recommend power banks, power strips, and devices fully charged. ⚡️🔋 Nary an outlet in sight in some rooms.

Indigenous genomic data is in demand from people trying to extract bio data without reciprocity or sovereignty. @nativebio.bsky.social is changing that, with a data repository & research center that advances indigenous health & tribal self -governance. Follow @kstsosie.bsky.social nativebio.org

folx, I’ve been working on AI "ethics" for almost a decade now & hate to tell you there’s no such thing as "ethical AI" the only "ethical principle" that works is regulating the shit out of the industry & to take back control of our autonomy, fundamental rights, freedoms & right to exist w/out AI

DNA is not the same as kinship. Our perspective paper argues that treating genetics as the ultimate proof of identity or family can: • erase community-defined relationships • reinforce Western biases • and even cause real harm in policy + research Special Issue: www.cambridge.org/core/journal...
