There are two wolves inside of me, one wolf says "haha this is a funny piece" but the other wolf, which is louder, says "you are fundamentally misrepresenting the point and how trees work, and that depresses me, because trees are in my Top Three Things of All Time" 😭

Who could have imagined that the exact same sort of trumped up anti-science attacks on gender affirming care could be used against doctors and parents for vaccinating kids? Oh right, me.

Let books be. Today kicks off #BannedBooksWeek, an annual observation started more than 40 years ago in response to a sudden surge in attempts to censor or remove books in libraries, schools, and bookstores. Sound familiar? Find ways to get involved and spread the word: bit.ly/4yvixbB.
LET BOOKS BE. Various line drawings related to libraries and books, including a hand holding a sign made of an open book that reads "Freed for ALL to Read," a tote bag that reads "Totes Resist" carrying a book, a full book cart with the head and tale of a horse with text that reads "A Wild Ride," and a closeup of two feet standing on a stack of books that say "A Soap Box" on their spines. Text at bottom reads "Protect the freedom to read. Banned Books Week, October 4-10, 2026." American Library Association. ala.org/bbooks

A west of Ireland #painting, "Mayo Bog" I painted following a day where I had cycled north through Ballycroy and kept stopping just to enjoy the bog. There's not a lot else to say except I think we're quite lucky in Ireland to have the bogs that we do. #SpéirGhorm #ArtYear
Landscape format in painterly acrylics on canvas. In expressive brush marks are a yellow sky with orange under-painting breaking through, a peaked patchy dark hill of oranges and blues sitting on the horizon to the right with some lime green fields at its base, and the edge of a distant blue hill on the left edge. The rest of the painting, the bottom two-thirds, being the flatness of the yellow ochre bog running across the full width of the painting, and in the foreground cut away revealing the maroon cut turf, with grasses, some long, and bog plants in front of it along the bottom rendered in blues, oranges, yellows, and whites. Some white is on top of the flat stretch of the bog across the middle, perhaps flowers, and some dark lines suggestive of tracts or cuts. Signed top left in dark blue, Liam Daly

AP Stylebook warns against anthropomorphizing AI systems: “Avoid language that gives them human characteristics… Instead, explain what a system does, how well it performs, who built it and who could be affected by it.”
APStylebook @APStylebook
X.com
Artificial intelligence systems do not think, feel, want or understand. Avoid language that gives them human characteristics. This is called anthropomorphizing, when we ascribe human traits, emotions or behaviors to non-human things, such as animals or inanimate objects.
Instead, explain what a system does, how well it performs, who built it and who could be affected by it.

I had this idea from reading the elizabeth holmes mouse post and then I couldn't do anything else until i painted the idea to completion
It is a cartoon mouse, like Jerry from Tom and Jerry, shaped like a wedge of cheese presumably because it has eaten a wedge of cheese. The mouse has Elizabeth Holmes' face. The mouse is saying "Why would I deceive you? There's no reason for me to do that."Nathan Fielder, looking into a fridge where the mouse has eaten a cheese, says skeptically "Okay. Alright."

listen this email I got a couple weeks ago is how much I love schools and libraries okay
Hi Keezy!
I am grateful for your time, if you choose to read this quick note.
I wanted to tell you about the sweetest student that comes through my library daily. Trying to keep up with her and her graphic novels is a favorite challenge. Last year we discovered your books and she became immediately and absolutely smitten. She dove into your art like she finally found what she had been looking for.

I just want to say Thank You. Books bring kids to themselves sometimes and I've noticed that graphic novels can be helpful for kids that find words and text tricky to find the same path. Thank You.
Also, when she came back to school last week she was excited to tell me about a book she wrote over the summer. 🥹
