happy pumpkin season! (art from 2014)

a black and white scratchboard drawing. Alternative poster for "It's the great pumpkin, Charlie brown"
It depicts a vast pumpkin patch in which Linus is standing holding a sign. He is looking up at the full moon. In front of the full moon we can see Snoopy in his aviator costume on his doghouse.
All the way in the distance, there is a house and we can see three children in halloween costumes coming out the door.

been thinking about this for years, now articulated:

XKCD formatted meme that shows a large stack of blocks labelled with "all sci-fi and futuristic art direction". in a small corner of the stack is a single, critical, load-bearing block labelled with "a painting done by syd mead sometime in the 1970s"

in french, police as a whole is referred to as "forces de l'ordre" = forces of Order and its always sounded to me like if you wrote this in a book you'd think like 'hmm little on the nose innit' but its just whatever here

im a strong advocate for "casting against type" in illustration like sure you can contact me if you have a like dark gothic novel but what are my illos gonna say that the text doesn't say? maybe someone who does more abstract & colorful stuff will bring a more interesting and unexpected contrast

"you should be in movies!" nothing more than a pretty face, a scathing indictment of ones vapidity and lack of any real skills "you oughta be in pictures!" a testament to one's charisma and sex appeal, effortless charm, will die tragically young in a car crash
