Hey Vancouver friends, PLEASE sign this petition to save the traffic calming that has made my neighbourhood much safer for my kids and everyone else walking and rolling through it. It’s under attack by a vocal minority with the ear of the media and 2 municipal parties (TEAM and ABC, fyi). 1/

Drivers drivers a little extra this morning. So many no-look, no-stop, red light, right on red with no stop. I look at my fellow human on a bike at a light wondering if they were feeling the same vibe…

Please don’t assume anything, Alberta. Vote against the Russian and American-fuelled separation self-sabotage. Send a strong message to the rest of Canada that we’re in this together. Foreign actors want you to vote for your own Brexit or Trump… or to help them win by just staying home.

Loving the new pedestrian scramble at Broadway and Cambie. Longer crossing times. Less right on red danger. The reductions in lanes seems to have reached an equilibrium with traffic flow in pre Broadway line construction times. do we need all these lanes? Maybe we close some permanently.

One of the big lies that the foreign disinformation campaign targeting the Alberta Separation movement spreads is the claim that a yes-vote doesnt really mean separation, it just provides a stronger negotiation position within Federation. Tell that to the people who regret voting for Brexit.

Urbanist Philomena Cunk. Town planners are pushing a controversial new idea called the "15-minute city". It’s a terrifying dystopian nightmare where everything you need, like your office, the pub, the shop that sells the little plastic bags for dog poo, is only fifteen minutes away.

Speeding doesn't actually save you meaningful time. All it really accomplishes is aggressively increasing the chances that you kill yourself or someone else outside your vehicle. It's a mathematically flawed, entirely selfish risk.

This is my neighbourhood & this reporting is lousy - as are the people leading these efforts. The traffic calming here was well-advertised, involved extensive consultation, and does not barricade anyone in their own neighbourhood. It has made the area much safer for people walking and rolling. 1/

One of the frustrating parts about the climate crisis is that the solutions can seem out of reach. However many are low tech and relatively simple changes to the way we grow food or deal with waste and compost for example. Check out these folks for solutions if you are tired of feeling powerless.
