While I agree that stronger legislation is needed for when these vehicles are used on space shared with pedestrians, we should also avoid moral panic: the number of hospitalizations across the country remains much lower than the number of deaths caused by cars.

It’s remarkable how many people can move on a street when those people don’t feel the need to always take a massive car with them. Mobility in cities is about space.
Busy European street with buses filled with people in a long line of people on bikes, waiting for the light to change in a separated, protected bike lane. Imagine if all those people or each in a separate car.

It was a very busy September with the beginning of classes, grant applications for all 3 federal research agencies, continuing to lead a 17-country study and more, but I managed to run over 20 km/day on average across the month, finishing with 621.3 km 🧑‍🔬 🧑‍🏫 🏃
