SURELY someone smarter than me has already noted that every horrific action causing the US govt to say #Venezuela is an unsafe country to travel to, the US government is also doing RIGHT NOW within the US, when acting using #ICE or #CBP, against US citizens as well as other people?

@TravelGov

Venezuela: The security situation in Venezuela remains fluid. As international flights have resumed, U.S. citizens in Venezuela should leave the country immediately. Before departure, U.S. citizens should take precautions and be aware of their surroundings. There are reports of groups of armed militias, known as colectivos, setting up roadblocks and searching vehicles for evidence of U.S. citizenship or support for the United States. Remain vigilant and exercise caution when traveling by road. Monitor airlines' communications and websites for updated information. Venezuela has the highest Travel Advisory level - Level 4: Do Not Travel - due to severe risks to Americans, including wrongful detention, torture in detention, terrorism, kidnapping, arbitrary enforcement of local laws, crime, civil unrest, and poor health infrastructure. Enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) at step.state.gov to receive security updates. More at ve.usembassy.gov/security-alert...

The person responds 1 (not at all likely), and writes "I need you to understand that people don't have conversations where they randomly recommend operating systems to one another"

Aaron Kashtan: "What should you do if you're walking in the woods and you run into a bear?

A: You should declare loudly: "I'm glad I met this instead Of a man." Then a large number of men will appear out of nowhere to explain why you're wrong, and the bear will get distracted, allowing you to escape."

Concept: You walk outside one night and notice that there are two full moons. A few hours go by and they don't seem to move.
You stare up at them.
They blink.
kainoliero
You blink back. It's only polite to return the greeting of the Big Night Cat.

I meant for this to be all spooky and ominous, but fuck it, this is way better. I love the Big Night Cat. She is beautiful. I support her.
jeanjauthor
I bring out the big ladder, extending it all the way to my roof. Taking the leaf rake with me, I climb up onto my roof, balance on the ridgeline, and reach up with the leaf rake... and scritchie under the chin of the Big Night Cat.
The purring rumbles soothingly throughout the neighborhood, like softly rolling thunder in the distance only without the scary flashes, bangs, or downpour of rain
And as I get a real thorough upper body workout on behalf of all my friends and family, everyone within range of that rumble sleeps with a smile on their face tonight. Especially the Big Night Cat.

If $74k is the "perfect salary," then with a $20k universal basic income ($1,667/mo), $54k is the perfect salary. That corresponds to a $26/hr FT job. That would be the minimum wage if the minimum wage had grown with productivity for the past 60 years. So let's go ahead and do both of those things.
