In case anyone missed my little X-Files point and click daydream

Mulder, Scully, Skinner, and the Lone Gunmen, all drawn in a cartoony style.

A hallway of an institute or something like that, with eldritch green light pouring in through a far window.

A car crests a hill at night. A figure with a shovel stands by the roadside.

My wife and I are watching a little bit of The X-Files again and I've been doodling
along.

Imagine if you will: a five act point-and-click where you switch between Mulder and Scully depending on what kind of clues and puzzles you're working with. The Lone Gunmen get their own episode during Act 4 but they all move together like a single character. Tone is 70% comedy 30% paranormal horror.

Scully: "Mulder, you can't combine those."
Mulder, trying to tie a stick of dynamite to a taxidermied pheasant using half a shoelace: "Ancient Roman augurs read omens into the flight paths of birds all the time, Scully."

Scully: LOOK AT Enormous Rotating Saucer Hovering Over the Town
Scully: "That's the second biggest weather balloon I've ever seen."

Scully: LOOKAT Fox Mulder's Docs Folder
OPEN Fox Mulder's Docs Folder
Scully: "Ah."
Mulder: "I get those for the articles."
Scully: "Yeah who doesn't love a juicy article."

Mulder LOOK AT Mysterious Skull
Mulder: "Seen this, Scully?"
Scully: "Artificial cranial deformation has been attested in numerous cultures,
Mulder. The practice results in elongated skulls and flattened foreheads."
Mulder: "Does it make the bones glow green?"

The first art was made in 2021 and the second one is the current year work. It's not a quality comparison. It's about telling stories through art and the path of art style changing. I'm grateful to my clients to give me an ability to do meaningful pieces.

i should also share this creature i came up with my epic friend, its a big brutish dragon inspired by Snow monkeys. its body runs really hot so it lives in arctic climates to cool down. Theres natural vents in its body that release moisture that freeze over time making its icey armor!

Went to my first protest the other day. It was awkward. I did not bring a sign. I managed to acquire one. I talked to 5 people. 3/5 said this was their first protest, too. It was all old people for the first half. The younger people (aside from myself) didn't show up til like halfway thru.

Discord is not letting bots scrape your photos. Those bots can *only* access images that people intentionally send to them. It is stupid that they're easily accessible in a right click menu that servers can't remove. You can only force them to reply in DMs.

someone let me know it was the 99th birthday of legendary artist Robert McGinnis on February 3. one of the best ever to do it - this might be my favorite of his illustrations.

illustration of a woman (left) and a man (right) against a white/pale yellow backdrop and on top of a multicolored rug. the dark-haired man sits slightly slumped on a chair, his body toward us, his face angled toward the woman. he's wearing a rumpled suit, a skinny red tie, brown/burgundy socks, black loafers - the butt of a gun in a shoulder holster peeks out of his suit jacket. there's a cigarette in his left hand, and the woman's green heel in his right. the blonde woman's back is toward us, her left hand at her waist, her right hand pressing against the man's shoulder - her face is angled downward but very close to the man's. her green dress is half-unbuttoned and pulled down to her hips - the skirt remains buttoned. her white bra is partially unhooked. she's on her knees and her legs are crossed at the ankles - we can see one bare foot, one still wearing a green pump.

It's okay to mourn the loss of a source of healing. Not to the point where it makes you lash out at victims or defend perpetrators, but if you found comfort in art that is now tainted, that's a loss. I think that's a big responsibility that creators need to take more seriously. (5/?)

Potato photos because I used my phone from 20 ft away, but look at this pretty boi! It's amazing how different he looks just from feather fluffiness or angle. What looks to be black is actually deep pink in the light. A good reminder that static images/poses don't always show everything

Two people are framed in an art nouveau style border, one has long red hair and is leaning their head on the other person, who is sitting in a wheelchair. They both seem happy together and there is a sense of calm between them.

In winter through early spring, you can sometimes find unspoiled, still-bright groundcherries sitting in the latticed remnants of their husks, like hearts suspended in paper ribcages

A photo of groundcherries (Alkekengi) in a garden in winter. The round, orange, cherry tomato-like fruits are suspended in the center of pendulous, vaguely heart-shaped husks made of networks of dried beige veins. The husks have a delicate, skeletal, lattice-like structure, reminiscent of laser-cut papercraft.
