In case anyone missed my little X-Files point and click daydream

Mulder, Scully, Skinner, and the Lone Gunmen, all drawn in a cartoony style.

A hallway of an institute or something like that, with eldritch green light pouring in through a far window.

A car crests a hill at night. A figure with a shovel stands by the roadside.

My wife and I are watching a little bit of The X-Files again and I've been doodling
along.

Imagine if you will: a five act point-and-click where you switch between Mulder and Scully depending on what kind of clues and puzzles you're working with. The Lone Gunmen get their own episode during Act 4 but they all move together like a single character. Tone is 70% comedy 30% paranormal horror.

Scully: "Mulder, you can't combine those."
Mulder, trying to tie a stick of dynamite to a taxidermied pheasant using half a shoelace: "Ancient Roman augurs read omens into the flight paths of birds all the time, Scully."

Scully: LOOK AT Enormous Rotating Saucer Hovering Over the Town
Scully: "That's the second biggest weather balloon I've ever seen."

Scully: LOOKAT Fox Mulder's Docs Folder
OPEN Fox Mulder's Docs Folder
Scully: "Ah."
Mulder: "I get those for the articles."
Scully: "Yeah who doesn't love a juicy article."

Mulder LOOK AT Mysterious Skull
Mulder: "Seen this, Scully?"
Scully: "Artificial cranial deformation has been attested in numerous cultures,
Mulder. The practice results in elongated skulls and flattened foreheads."
Mulder: "Does it make the bones glow green?"

Michael Grant and I have concerns that the project is under-resourced. But one of the producers, Sev Ohanian, is a friend, as well as a genuine Animorphs fan. If anyone can make it work, he can. Fingers crossed. variety.com/2026/tv/news...

a cheater bar is any pipe. Buy a pipe that will fit over the handle. preferably metal but pvc will also work. I've done an oil change in the parking lot; not a big deal.

Jy @jsparx.bsky.social · 17/03/2026

once you find the proper size for the socket wrench, you can use a "cheater bar" which is a pipe that goes over the handle, making the handle longer. It will give you more leverage. If you don't know the right size for the socket, you can use a "gator grip" which kind of fits everything.

The first art was made in 2021 and the second one is the current year work. It's not a quality comparison. It's about telling stories through art and the path of art style changing. I'm grateful to my clients to give me an ability to do meaningful pieces.

LOL OK well to be fair, I didn't realize this was Buffy's Angel until after I replied. I'll agree the angel that appeared in Buffy was not very interesting (caveat: I didn't watch much BTVS). My love for Angel lies in his standalone series, where he's predictable but not boring ❤️

i should also share this creature i came up with my epic friend, its a big brutish dragon inspired by Snow monkeys. its body runs really hot so it lives in arctic climates to cool down. Theres natural vents in its body that release moisture that freeze over time making its icey armor!

Anyway, the more important fact: The town the protest occurred in has a population of nearly 4k. 1k people showed up to the protest. Obviously there were people from nearby towns - I was one of them. The town I live in has a population of less than 1.5k. It was good to see so many people turn out.

100

Jy @jsparx.bsky.social · 16/06/2025

Went to my first protest the other day. It was awkward. I did not bring a sign. I managed to acquire one. I talked to 5 people. 3/5 said this was their first protest, too. It was all old people for the first half. The younger people (aside from myself) didn't show up til like halfway thru.

I guess I shouldn't leave out this part: "Given the scale of the collected data, we implemented a random sampling strategy, selecting 10% of all servers listed in Discord’s Discovery tab. This sample, consisting of 3,167 servers, was chosen to balance feasibility with representativeness."
