I think it was Eisenberg who said he should play Luthor; Snyder was hard pitching him to be Jimmy Olsen, and then he would get killed off in the opening scene because that’s CRAZY

Happy Days’ pilot aired in 1974 but takes place in 1955. That ‘70s Show premiered in 1998 and took place in 1976. Therefore it’s high time for a half-hour sitcom about the halcyon days of 2007

This is Lindsey Isaacs. Last year, after a roadway accident killed three people in Florida, police spotted her on a Flock license plate reader and arrested her. But she wasn't involved in the crash.

You've probably seen, or heard about, Flock cameras lately. Some have concerns about their accuracy. But even when they work exactly as intended, they provide ample opportunity for police to misuse or abuse them. My latest at @reason.com reason.com/2026/08/13/f...

Flock cameras and license plate readers are everywhere. Can we trust cops with them?
From wrongful arrests to officers stalking exes, license plate cameras keep exposing police failures.

When prosecutors finally examined the evidence, the case fell apart.
Immediately, the case fell apart: Isaacs' Durango, purchased two months before the accident, still looked new, with no sign of the "damage" the investigator reported. The Ford Focus, meanwhile, was heavily damaged, with "red or maroon paint transfer"—not a match for Isaacs' black car. One witness to the accident said the driver's airbag went off, which Isaacs' had not. A 911 caller also reported a partial license plate number that did not match Isaacs' tag.

Police seized Isaacs' car and kept it in an impound lot for six months. When she sued to get it back, they arrested her, charging her with three counts of vehicular homicide. She spent 13 days in jail, threatened with life behind bars, over something she clearly hadn't done

Investigators said the car that caused the accident left "red or maroon" transfer paint on the car it hit. But Lindsey Isaacs' car was a black Dodge Durango, with no sign of damage

Relatedly, I wrote this week about the "presumption of regularity," which puts a higher burden of proof on a party alleging selective prosecution, simply because judges believe the government is extra-trustworthy. It's bad principle that's aged even worse: reason.com/2026/08/06/c...
reason.com
Courts say the Trump administration is shredding the 'presumption of regularity.' The government never deserved extra trust.
Misconduct and misrepresentations by Justice Department lawyers have led some federal judges to question the traditional benefit of the doubt they give to the government.
