When you hear a politician talking about saving small farms, just know that they do *not* mean the market gardener selling zucchini and corn at their roadside stand every Saturday. They mean a guy who inherited 500 acres and pays other people to work the land while he goes on hunting trips.

Heck yeah.
Human-made over 5 years

No AI has been used to generate any code or content in or about the game, and never will be. Slow Roads has been a labour of love since the project began in 2021, and has been built with a decade of experience in 3D graphics and creative software development. Textures are hand-drawn, sounds are recorded locally, and all systems are designed and engineered specifically for the unique context of the game. This is a solo-developed project that I take great care over, and I believe AI simply doesn't belong in creative projects like these.

Please note that procedural generation is not a form of generative AI; the procedures used to generate the world in the game are mathematical functions that have been derived and defined by hand, with direct creative intent.

The DOJ is intentionally drawing attention to this incident of mail dumping to sow distrust in mail-in voting, suppress votes, & motivate changes to the law to make it harder to vote. If you're amplifying and feeding that frame, even from the other side, you're a pawn in their information operation.

I've spent a lot of years studying a lot of collapses, and the truth of the matter is that they're always mundane: mild climatic shifts that reduce crop yields, a dumbass in power who makes some terrible decisions, neglecting things that obviously matter but the will to fix them can't be summoned.

“what if the AI doesn’t want to be shut down so it kills all humans?” well, the funny thing is, llms don’t exist between prompts. there is no there there. the model is sent a request, it “starts up” to receive it, processes it, and then it “shuts down” again. every single time.

Before semiconductor RAM, most computers used magnetic core memory. This is the 32 KB core stack from the computer on Spacelab, the Space Shuttle's experimental laboratory. Let's take a closer look...
The core stack from the Spacelab computer. This is a stack of six rectangular circuit boards, joined by blue connectors on each end. The cores are visible on the top board. The 294,912 cores are way too small to see; there are eight large reddish-brown squares, each holding a region of cores. 18 reddish and greenish stripes are slightly visible, showing regions for the 18 bits of storage.
