Bristol Rises' far right "protest" has resulted in the postponement of the annual Shine Night Walk, a women-led charity event that raises money for Camcer Research, with a day's notice. Avon & Somerset Police are more willing to facilitate a dozen fascists than 2k+ women raising money for charity.

I hadn't noticed someone edited together all the Harry & Paul 'Silver Beatles' sketches; it hits differently as a 15-minute piece. Still almost entirely composed of "WTF WHY I MEAN FRIGGING WHAT?" moments, though. And ace Phil Pope tunes. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ekxr... #FabFoolsFriday ✌🏾🎶🃏

My tour rider asks for the venue's crew to put a step ladder onstage and decorate as they see fit. Clive at Oxford engineered it so I did not see this freaky fucking thing until I walked onstage to start the show. Whole show spent feeling I should be looking over my shoulder. Salut!

"I never thought I'd say this, but pull down the blinds, I'm closing the bureau. For an hour."
On Monday afternoon, The Washington Post said in a statement posted to social media that it would not publish any photos of Trump until midnight.

“The Washington Post will not publish any photographs of today’s presidential events – including Trump’s departure from the White House and his events at the United Nations in New York – until midnight Eastern Time, joining a collective effort with photographers in other newsrooms covering the White House in a show of support of the banned outlets.”

@herring1967.bsky.social Hey Rich, just saw some sad news about a RHEFP legend.
Crikey goose. I've some really sad news.
The worlds greatest fool ever and an amazing friend of mine. The awesome rumple stiltskin, aka Jolly Goodfellow has sadly gone to that great circus ring in the sky.
There was and never will be another like him. His 48 hour plus long one man shows, including going to the toilet live on stage in a none offensive manner (and he did, I know this as I held the bucket) were legendary. His spring powered shoes were as unique as his sense of humour.
His life off stage was as brilliantly bizarre as his shows.
I learnt so much from him and the world of comedy is going to be a darker place without him.
You were the Andy Kaufman of our time. The Grimaldi of fools. But most of all and above all this, you were my friend.

Well, this was inevitable. Forstater is now using her own case to argue that racism should/is protected as a philosophical belief 🤮
"Even comments which are “serious, severely hurtful and
prejudicial”are covered by Article 10 of the European Convention on Human rights (freedom of expression) which doesn't mean absolute freedom of expression in a situations, but employers should treat beliefs equally.

As the judge said in my case even beliefs that are profoundly distressing and offensive to many others are beliefs that must be tolerated in a pluralist society.""Cofnas's hereditarian belief has already been found to be "worthy of respect in a democratic society" by a court in the UK.

Though not binding in Belgium, but its anti-discrimination law is based on the same principle.

Still it's better to have a good job than a good legal case.

Ghent uni could string out the suspension - the process is the punishment.

If there are calls for a staff member to be discriminated against because of their beliefs the answer should be No (unless the belief falls below the v low threshold for belief discrimination), not "oh well if 2000 people object..."

I think Jason Arday was a fantasist who ended up terribly out of his depth. I think his institutions put him there because it was good for their optics, with no thought for safeguarding. I think they tried to respond to the cracks showing by covering them up, and I doubt it was the first time.
