#NZpol Reading the previous docs, it reads (?) $1.75B has appeared (magicked!) from National’s books to fast track Mill Road RON during an election. The current MTPP* overview—from July—shows Mill Rd as “Progression is subject to funding”, no future implementation. Nothing new on the Mill Rd page.
Table from Major Transport Projects Pipeline, dated July, showing Mill Road (second row). Green is pre-implementation; there is no dark blue implement bar, only a light yellow ‘Progression is subject to funding availability’, and the words "Implementation ready".Key for the progress bars.

Yellow: Investment case/Detailed business case
Orange: Route protection
Green: Pre-implementation (route protection, detailed design, some early works †), † = When applicable
Purple: Implementation
Light yellow: Progression is subject to funding availability

I think they are hoping for a debate about these lies... any straw they can clutch to avoid having to defend how they've been paying off their donors, making incompetent decisions on health, housing and the economy, spewing racist rhetoric and impoverishing many people over the past 3 years

Congratulations to the National Party for managing to create a TV campaign ad that consists exclusively of lies. It's quite a thing to behold Soviet-level disinformation from a right wing party. #nzpol

I love the reaction to Labour’s costings from National. National who has been fact checked multiple times by the AAP. National who was called out by the ASA for misleading voters. National who use AI slop and lies on their social media every damned day. They call it “dishonest”.

Many reasonable intelligent people (whatever their political leaning) can see National, Act and NZF politicians are talking complete rubbish when they make heated accusatory and ridiculous claims about LW parties. Ignoring this crap and continuing to point out their incompetence is best strategy imo

Wow, when you lie so much that there are consequences. Not included in the correction of course, is the fact that (as reported here) the Ipsos survey “showed more respondents supported than opposed a number of new taxes, including a significant majority in favour of a wealth tax".

Major flash flooding in Spain yesterday. In Madrigueras (Albacete), 142 mm fell in just 2.5 hours, killing one woman, while many others had to be rescued. These "DANA" events are not uncommon, but record warm Mediterranean water now provides further 'fuel' to them. www.eltiempo.es/noticias/mad...
