I really don't get why so many normally sane people completely lose their shit about NHS parking and expect it for free. Car parks cost money to build and manage. Paying manages the demand. Free means the NHS is taking money away from patient care to subsides drivers.

🌊 New paper in @ambio-journal.bsky.social 🎣 Sediment organic carbon content is lower in intensely trawled areas, declining by 0.05 wt% per additional swept area ratio (1 yr-1 ). rdcu.be/fqQBA
Fig. 3 Marginal effect of swept area ratio (SAR, yr-1) on sediment organic carbon density (SCD, 9 10-2 gC cm-3; Top) and sediment organiccarbon content (OC, wt%; Bottom), predicted from a linear mixed-effects model. Lines show modelled relationships at representative mudcontents (25th, 50th, and 75th percentiles), corresponding to low (83.2%,- 0.68 SD), medium (86.2%,-0.19 SD), and high (93.1%, ? 0.94 SD)mud levels. Shaded ribbons represent 95% confidence intervals, reflecting uncertainty in fixed effects. Other covariates (sediment depth andNephrops burrow density) are held at their means
