It sucks that between the two strip malls with curry and pad Thai Stratford has the objectively bad options

Anyone who hasn’t been in the black can hold off on opining about how forests are managed and forest fires fought.
A photo of a forest fire from earlier this year. Trees felled from a hurricane and smoldering with one sporting a visible flame. A haze of smoke seeps from the ground. Not a single keyboard warrior in the image.

Canadians "struggle to access care" because the healthcare system is underfunded and understaffed. Switching to a partially-privatized system isn't going to magically create more doctors and nurses, and in fact the steps in that direction thus far have made the problem much worse.

i think lots of people underestimate how badly these “AI” companies want people to be unable to afford computers. they view personal computing as a roadblock to their desire for complete end-to-end centralization. the fact that their tech is putting hardware out of reach is not just a happy accident

Ahmed allegedly made the following search queries:

embezzled

defi hacks fbi

defi hacks prosecution

wire fraud

how to prove malicious intent

evidence laundering

can I cross border with crypto

how to stop federal government from seizing assets

buying citizenship

Criminal mastermind. However, the brothers' Google search history in the weeks after the theft for phrases including "how to wash crypto”, “top crypto lawyers”, “wire fraud statute / wire fraud statue [sic] of limitations”, and “prison or jail worse” suggest that perhaps the brothers had some clue that their actions could be interpreted criminally, as do the brothers' own descriptions of their plan as “sus”. Prosecutors, on the other hand, have pointed to his decision to buy a plane ticket out of the country the very next day, and to his Google searches for terms including "market manipulation criminal elements" and "FBI surveillance", as evidence that he knew quite well his actions were not merely "highly profitable trades".

This is a sidebar but this is a form of manufactured consent of a more broader variety. What is happening here is that elites enjoy finding everyday actions of the peons (you and me) that we insist a right to enjoy and, instead of taking a serious account of fault, find basis to ridicule.

Most elected Republicans are fully supportive of Mr. Trump and his agenda, and on issues like immigration some Democrats are moving in his direction, reflecting public opinion. Democrats were divided over the wisdom of the protest by Representative Al Green, Democrat of Texas, during Mr. Trump's address to Congress on Tuesday night.
But the lack of aggressive pushback from targets of Mr. Trump's retribution and policy agenda is striking if understandable in other cases.
