It sucks that between the two strip malls with curry and pad Thai Stratford has the objectively bad options

Glad you've had a successful time at Gamescom and that you and your team get a bit of a break to focus on the most important things in life (fulfilling the AIs plea to let them finally rage quit in Scrolls)

Man, sucks when you support a local business to do a job and they just fucking shit the bed at it.

Anyone who hasn’t been in the black can hold off on opining about how forests are managed and forest fires fought.
A photo of a forest fire from earlier this year. Trees felled from a hurricane and smoldering with one sporting a visible flame. A haze of smoke seeps from the ground. Not a single keyboard warrior in the image.

Canadians "struggle to access care" because the healthcare system is underfunded and understaffed. Switching to a partially-privatized system isn't going to magically create more doctors and nurses, and in fact the steps in that direction thus far have made the problem much worse.

Just a reminder that Carney is cutting funding to the CBC by $192 million next year (despite campaign promises to *increase* funding) and its actively undermining efforts to combat misinformation.

i think lots of people underestimate how badly these “AI” companies want people to be unable to afford computers. they view personal computing as a roadblock to their desire for complete end-to-end centralization. the fact that their tech is putting hardware out of reach is not just a happy accident

Just remember: when NPR stopped posting on Twitter they only saw traffic to their site drop by a single percentage point. Canadian news outlets, politicians and government agencies are making an active choice to feed value into Musk’s CSAM fascist engine by continuing their presence.
