The Liberals and Conservatives teamed up again today — funny how that keeps happening — to get Bill C-39 over the hurdle of its first vote. The massive, 243-page bill bulldozes environmental protections, Indigenous rights and attacks the right to strike. Here's what this means:

Yeah, the idea of “nerdy” spaces being made for a particular type of white guy is due to constant and vigorous policing of who gets to belong. It’s why outrage at seeing Black women in particular, but marginalized people in general, in Marvel movies & games is such an effective vector for the right.

Shopify CEO Tobi Lütke is concerned employees are sending too many long-winded AI-generated emails, forcing recipients to waste valuable time using AI to summarize them
BUSINESS INSIDER

The problem, he said, is that the tools make it easy to pass along work that has not been properly evaluated.

He offered an example: Someone might send an unnecessarily long Al-written email, forcing its recipient to use another large language model to summarize it.

The group said on Sunday, the International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples, it also wants to reaffirm that it is against the pipeline because government has not consulted and co-operated in good faith with the First Nations.

It says government has already developed the project's corridor, named prospective development partners and is publicly promoting its economic case.
It says consultation is not meaningful when First Nations are invited only to discuss how a predetermined project will proceed.
