Ottawa Mission says ‘unprecedented need’ for services strained by supervised consumption site closures
The Ottawa Mission’s impact report says the organization has faced another year of “unprecedented need” for its services, pointing to the closure of supervised consumption sites and a need for more financial assistance from upper levels of government as contributing to the worsening of the homelessness and addiction crisis in the city.

My rural home is on a gravel road and has a well & septic system, I don’t own a bike & it’s too far to walk anywhere, if I wanted to use public transit (I don’t) I’d have to drive to it first, and my new community centre was paid for by taxpayers in the urban wards, so yeah, 2.5% sounds about right.
