Speaking of punchable amorphous blob mascots... Can anyone explain this truck that I saw today?

A work van for a company called HVAC Ministries LLC. It prominently feature a cartoon... THING... carrying ductwork shaped like a cross. The thing is a brown circle with maybe stitching along its edges? I don't know. It has skinny arms and legs coming out of it. The thing has wide eyes with black pupils, an oblong shiny red nose, and an oddly shaped open mouth with (gold?) teeth. It includes the Bible verse Matthew 16:24: "Then said Jesus unto his disciples, if any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me."

Went on a Siuslaw estuary tour today. One preserve hasn't had any work done, but it breached its dike & is well on its way toward restoring itself as a wetland. The other has had a big levee removed, huge salmon habitat improvement.

Off-kilter photo but you can see the water level is high and the marsh is happier. This was pasture but the gate in the dike failed, and the farmer decided "it wants to be wetlands."

Former wetland, used to pasture cattle for over a century, but still has native plants that will rebound once the dike is breached, in one or two years. Sitka spruce around the edges will also expand.

This idea applies to other things. If you wear a big sun hat, a polo shirt, and a pair of baggy cargo shorts to the zoo, you can tell people wholly fabricated, rather incorrect information about the animals and they will believe you.
