The opening episode or two of Battlestar Gallactica had this bit about how they were always under attack, so everyone was ALWAYS ON, and I thought this is so stupid, they'd all be dead in a week. They'd have to develop a shift system like the crews of nuclear subs do six hours on, six off. Gave up.

Yesterday, I was moderating social media for a major national charity. People just posting about doing fundraising. Every single comment from X was about "invaders" and along the lines of "wait until your wife/daughter gets raped". And yet, I still have friends who use the platform. The govt does.

I remember in my time working for NHS England all the talk about how its creation had meant they got the credit for good news stories and the government got the stick for the bad (which I suspect has led to its abolishment) But the same is true for public utilities.

I miss what Twitter was. Too much of my adult life - work, friends, partners - has been bound up in it not to. I generally think this season of #DrWho has been better than last year, though nowhere near as good as the first RTD, or even Moffat's eras. But last night's was fucking atrocious television again. Just inept things like we've no idea if Belinda's family are real or not cos we've not met them.
