Had an issue stopping my Cybertruck from a low speed the other day and had to make a choice to crash it or risk going tumbling down a mountain to probable death. Sucks to see, but it held up well and only a few minor scrapes and bruises.
Still going over every choice made and trying to understand why it would not stop and was gaining speed from 5 mph to 12+ while on the brakes. ABS was probably hurting more than helping on this 26° downhill angle. Hoping to be able to talk to someone at Tesla as I have the crash recorder data already.

Today is the birthday of cartoonist Jackie Ormes (Aug. 1, 1911-Dec. 26, 1985), the first Black woman to create a newspaper comic strip that was read nationally in the US. She created Torchy Brown in Dixie to Harlem, Torchy in Heartbeats & Patty-Jo ‘n’ Ginger. Patty Jo became a toy doll.

To clarify what I'm saying: Especially here in the US we see vehicle height as "big" but for some reason vehicle footprint doesn't come into the equation. This is how you get people thinking the Hyundai Kona is a "big SUV" when in fact is has a near-identical length to a 1992 Civic

For a whole host of reasons, I'd like smaller cars to come back into vogue. Yet at the same time, it's become clear that automakers were so successful at throwing the term "crossover SUV" onto slightly lifted hatchbacks with just enough big-boy rugged looks that people can't assess vehicle size.

I met a brother who has photocopies of the first several months of the Conan the Barbarian newspaper strip. “Would you like some scans?” “Would I?!? 🤓” These are the first four strips in the initial post-origin arc. Latter part of September, 1978.

I have gone through all 4838 Illinois Flag Commission design submissions that were released to @milesmacclure.bsky.social via FOIA so that you don't have to wade through countless Abe Lincoln silhouettes, bald eagles, and "LAND OF TAXES" grievance flags to find the funny ones. Thread starts here.

The blue-heeler cartoon dog represents the below-average rate of dogs in Illinois and the need for more. It also represents Australia's looming takeover of young America's minds. The scroll has the words "State Sovereignty, National Bluey" written on it, which serves as a tribute to the old flag.
