I was just thinking about how when I was 17 or 18, there were bars where i could just go order a drink and no one would blink. But by the time I was 19 or 20 they had all been shut down or started carding. Was that everywhere or just local to me? Are bars that don’t card fully a thing of the past?

Turns out 8 is the exact right age for my horror-obsessed kid to experience the Gremlins movies. When the one gremlin drank the bottle of “brain hormones” and fell writhing behind the desk, he said “he’s gonna come back up wearing glasses” and when it actually happened he literally jumped with joy
