If you're in BC: Don't be a fucking idiot. If you call 811, you can talk to a REAL, LIVE NURSE PRACTITIONER for free, 24/7. They also have pharmacists and all kinds of other health professionals who are accessible if they need them. It's a FANTASTIC resource. Probably saved my life.

Big milestone met for Environment Canada today as it launches its long-awaited storm-based thunderstorm and tornado warning system. It's mostly going to affect warnings received via cell phone, but it should substantially reduce the number of warnings for people not in the direct path of the storm.

Folks I won’t tell you not to feel your feelings, but this is rage bait. He’s talking about expanding beyond politics into things like live sports.

Yeah, we want to expand it. "Breaking" is maybe the wrong word, but yes, we want to expand more and more so that Bluesky means not just one thing, not just liberal politics, for example. I will point to sports as an example from the last year. We've made a very concerted effort to bring on sports leagues and sports writers, and it's worked really well. There are a ton of sports conversations now on the app, and those people come here for the sports, not for the liberal politics. It's possible to expand.
