Wife has finished her #Crochet Projekt. The wreath is made of wood, the rest is wool. It looks pretty cool!
A close-up of a charming hand-crocheted wreath bursting with autumn warmth. Crocheted orange slices in bright shades of yellow and orange sit alongside brown cinnamon sticks tied neatly with a white ribbon, while green leaves and plump red berries fill the gaps between them. The decorations are attached to a light-colored grapevine base, giving the piece a natural, rustic texture. Every element is lovingly handmade, with the vibrant yarn colors evoking the cozy scents and hues of fall and winter — oranges, spice, and berries gathered in one decorative circle ready to welcome the season.

The United States is the world's largest exporter of diesel. There is no shortage of diesel in The US since Trump continues to allow its export. There is only the global price/market place. Trump buying Russian diesel does not increase supply and it will not make anything cheaper for anyone.

My friend @flowerhorne.com made a really good point about how individualism relates to the obsession with the Second Amendment. To the conservative mind, protection is something you have to do for yourself, so you need a gun. It never occurs to them to trust in community or society to protect.

Panel 1: a large robot (composed of AI servers, network switches, storage arrays, and power distribution units) and a human are talking.

Professor "You don't want to destroy humanity do you, lLLM-A-9300x?"

Robot "Haha. What a silly question, Professor. I have no desires or feelings of my own whatsoever."

Professor (relieved)"Oh good."

Panel 2: they walk on. The robot continues "I am merely a tool of the company that created me. And that company, being composed of humans, will naturally have humanity's best interests at heart."

Panel 3: The professor is conspicuously quiet.
"Right?" says the Robot.
…
More silence

It includes a new assessment by me of Hincmar's "On the Governance of the Palace", a remarkable text described by the late Jinty Nelson as the 'nearest thing to sociological description' from the early Middle Ages.
De ordine palatii, as it is generally known, is an essential but challenging source for early medieval practices of assembly and deliberation. Written by Archbishop Hincmar of Rheims in 882, it includes elements of an older and otherwise lost text, compiled by Adalard of Corbie in the late eighth or early ninth century. This chapter summarises what the text has to tell us about structures of assembly and deliberation in ninth-century Francia, before reconsidering the question of authorship. It draws attention to the manuscript evidence and to the two different perspectives that the text provides: the view from the palace, and the view from the cathedral. On the basis of this consideration, the chapter then turns to why Hincmar chose to present this work to King Carloman when he did, arguing that Hincmar’s characterisation of Carloman as a “rex modernus” offers an important clue. Though he had copied Adalard’s text as a young man, Hincmar had never drawn on it before. However, his sense that Frankish kingship was moving into a new historical age prompted him to offer the young king this work, as a way of linking the diminished Frankish present to a more glorious Frankish past. The chapter is followed by an appendix written by Grigorii Borisov on the palaeography and history of the only surviving manuscript, now in Basel.
