#gaming is truely a good thing to detach from too much thinking. Having to concentrate and focus on the story fully consumes my focus. That's one of the reasons I love computer games

Updating #witcher3... I won't play it the next days or maybe even weeks unless I haven't finished Baldurs Gate. But it might be really cool coming back to the world of the Witcher. Or Dragon Age? I haven't played it in ages but have good memories of it

Early November Morning Walk (2025) #MorningWalk #LandscapePhotography #NaturePhotography #Autumn
View of a lake surrounded by swamps and wetlands with lush vegetation of by this time of the year mostly dry grasses, bushes, bare trees. Some beautiful goldenrod and reeds in the foreground. Bright sunny day with clear blue sky, also reflected in the almost still water.

My contribution to the #Fotovorschlag 'Fließendes Wasser' / 'flowing water' is one of my best photos. I was just super lucky that the stairs were so flooded, that I took the tripod with me (despite not knowing whether I'd need it) and my wife having the […] [Original post on mastodon.social]
A lush, emerald-green ravine cradles a cascading waterfall, its multiple tiers glistening as sunlight filters through the dense canopy above. The water tumbles gracefully over moss-covered rocks, creating a symphony of soft roars and gentle splashes that echo through the tranquil forest. Delicate ferns and vibrant foliage cling to the rugged cliffs, their leaves shimmering with droplets from the misty spray. The air is cool and fresh, carrying the earthy scent of damp soil and pine, while dappled light dances across the scene, painting the landscape in shifting hues of green and gold. A narrow, weathered path winds along the water’s edge, inviting hikers to pause and soak in the serene beauty of this hidden gem, where nature’s raw power and quiet grace intertwine.

A breathtaking alpine panorama unfolds under a vast, azure sky, where soft wisps of cloud drift lazily overhead. Rolling emerald hills stretch out in gentle waves, their vibrant green hues contrasting beautifully with the rugged, rocky face of a towering mountain peak. Wildflowers dot the landscape, adding splashes of delicate color to the lush meadow, while a tranquil stream meanders through the valley below, reflecting the sunlight like liquid silver. The scene exudes a sense of peaceful solitude, as if nature itself has paused to breathe. A faint trail winds through the grass, inviting hikers to explore this idyllic corner of the world, where every step promises another stunning vista.

A B&W photo of a person standing next to a stack of printed paper as high as the top of their head. This is Margaret Hamilton, at work as a Software Engineer and the leader of a team of extremely specialised programmers who worked for NASA. The photo was taken in 1969, and it shows a physical form if her work since she joined the Apollo project in 1965 (she joined at the age of 29 by my calculation). My interpretation of the expression on her face is a mix of pride and mild amusement. She has glasses, long, straight hair, and neat office attire. Margaret Hamilton has her hands placed gently on the stack of printouts to keep it all balanced upright. The pages appear to be arranged in bundles, ranging from 8-10 centimetres thick, to 20cm thick or more. The resulting stack of printouts is physically impressive for being an unusual feat, and it represents something even more impressive: it's the printed form of the source-code she and the team she led wrote for the NASA Apollo project. Their software ran on the Apollo Guidance Computer that was that on board each Apollo command module and Apollo Lunar Module. The Apollo Guidance Computer onboard the Eagle was an essential flight instrument for Neil Armstrong when he piloted the craft to land on the surface of the moon.

A striking emerald lizard basks in dappled sunlight, its sleek body coiled gracefully atop a mossy log. The vibrant green scales shimmer with subtle hints of blue along its sides, contrasting beautifully with the earthy browns and soft greens of the forest floor. Delicate ferns and broad-leaved plants frame the scene, their fresh foliage glistening with morning dew. The air feels cool and still, carrying the quiet hum of woodland life. Sunlight filters through the canopy above, casting gentle shadows that dance across the lizard’s textured skin as it remains perfectly poised, a fleeting jewel in nature’s tranquil embrace.

A wild chamois stands poised on the rugged slopes of a sunlit mountain, its curved horns catching the golden glow of the afternoon. The rocky terrain, a mosaic of weathered gray and warm beige stones, stretches around it, interspersed with patches of hardy green shrubs clinging to life in the harsh environment. The air feels crisp and clear, carrying the quiet stillness of high altitudes. This moment, frozen in time, captures the raw beauty and resilience of alpine wildlife, where every step on the uneven ground speaks of strength and adaptation. A fleeting glimpse of nature’s untamed grace in its most authentic setting.

A sunny alpine hillside carpeted with green grass and scattered rocks, brightened by yellow, white, and purple wildflowers. At the top of the slope stands a charming wooden chalet-style building with a balcony, a green flag with white lettering fluttering from its roof. Behind it, tall evergreen trees and a few smaller structures nestle into the landscape. The clear blue sky stretches overhead, completing a picture-perfect mountain scene that radiates the peaceful warmth of a summer day in the Alps.

The image depicts a fallen tree trunk lying horizontally on the forest floor, surrounded by vibrant green moss and small plants. The tree trunk is covered with patches of bright yellow-green moss, contrasting with its rough, gray bark. The moss is dense and lush, with some small orange buds visible among the greenery. The background features a variety of green plants and trees, indicating a dense forest environment. The lighting suggests a natural, outdoor setting with dappled sunlight filtering through the canopy. The overall scene is rich in texture and color, highlighting the natural beauty of the forest floor.

This image captures a narrow, rocky trail carved along the side of a steep cliff. The path is bordered by a sheer rock face on the right and a steep drop on the left, with a metal cable railing providing support for hikers. Lush green vegetation and trees surround the trail, softening the rugged terrain. In the background, rolling mountain ranges stretch across the horizon beneath a clear blue sky. The scene conveys the thrill and exposure of a high-altitude alpine hiking route.

This image captures a close-up view of a field of tall, golden grass swaying gently in the breeze. Scattered throughout the grass are delicate blue wildflowers, their vibrant color standing out against the warm, earthy tones of the meadow. The background is softly blurred, drawing focus to the textures and details of the grass and flowers in the foreground. The overall scene evokes a sense of natural beauty and tranquility, with the interplay of light and shadow adding depth to the image.
