OpenAI's chatbot isn't just imitating the magazine's style. It's also falsely attributing AI-generated images to real artists.

BREAKING: In Nebraska rally, Trump just suggested he would be unbothered to see Iran "take out" LA or San Diego: “They could take out a city,” he said. “Let them take—Let them take out Los Angeles. Let them take out San Diego. That’s—this is a very small price to pay."

What does it mean to be a member-led party when the Greens have 230,000 members but only 1835 voted on the Zionism Is Racism motion? Doesn't seem like you can claim the result as the iron-clad democratic will of the membership while dismissing the concerns of actual democratically elected MPs

Most state attorneys general released Meta from Cambridge Analytica-related claims as part of the child safety settlement. New Mexico wasn't part of that deal, and a jury there just found 26 of 29 past statements about Cambridge Analytica, hate speech and misinformation willfully deceptive.

There is an easy solution to this which I have discovered: ignore all of it. There's very little real evidence but a huge amount of ideology behind it. A whole industry of books preying on parental anxiety that can just get in the bin.

Once again - the problem isn't "ooo AI models are too scary and powerful". It's that the developers of these products are irresponsible dolts, who have absolutely no intention of changing how they behave. Stop making excuses, use existing laws and make them responsible for their own actions.

Can the arts business model survive AI? Perhaps the best guide is to look at how the arts survived past tech revolutions Take music—internet piracy and then streaming killed the lucrative CD market, but musicians mostly saved their jobs by focusing much more on live concerts
a graph showing music as a % of consumer spending, with album sales rising through the 90s before crashing in the 2000s and being replaced with concert revenue
