In fairness, only 7 of the 9 announcements are about the recent decision to pause all trans surgeries for Welsh NHS patients. And it is useful to have these announcements linked in one place. But maybe fewer announcements would've been needed if facts were established prior to pausing 451 surgeries

MOSCOW, Oct 8 (Reuters) - Russia's Central Bank said cash receipts through its payment system rose 3.3% in September compared with the average level in the second quarter of 2026.

The Central Bank of Russia (CBR) maintained its key rate at 14% in September after 10 consecutive rate cuts and will discuss monetary policy once again at its meeting on October 23.

Another thing I want to point out…. I guess I need to make a disclaimer here beforehand. Things are worse in 2026 than they were in 2025 despite all their efforts. They increased taxes and fees, the Iran war boosted oil prices, and they cut more spending on things, but things are still worse.

Why? I use the analogy a lot What is worse: 👉 Having debt? Or 👉 Needing a loan and being unable to get one? Russia NEEDS a loan, the rates are sky high so they don’t like that, AND even if they take the high rates, no one is willing to loan them a sufficient amount.

Today, selling a £1m house and moving to a £400,000 flat won’t change your children’s IHT. The estate is the same size. Under the Tory proposal, the £1m house was exempt from IHT, but the £600,000 you released is fully subject to IHT. Your house move caused £240,000 IHT.
