This story is great but man I am laughing at how much this guy looks like Michael McDonald - did any other genes even make it in? If you told me that he’d been the result of asexual reproduction by Michael McDonald I’d believe you
A guy who looks basically 1:1 like Michael McDonald who recently found out Michael McDonald is his biological father

Sen. Eric Schmitt isn't apologizing or admitting he was wrong for mixing up the Atlanta Hawks and the Iowa Hawkeyes. This bruohaha perhaps showcases two things: How performative politics is endemic during the Trump era and how not admitting you made a mistake makes the story keep going:

Good morning. In case you missed it: The United States Supreme Courts ruled yesterday that Missouri must use a congressional map passed in 2022 — not the one lawmakers approved last year at the behest of Donald Trump.

. @stlpublicradio.bsky.social was the first Missouri-based media outlet to report in September on how the referendum process could foil President Donald Trump's efforts to oust @cleaver.house.gov. The path to get here was pretty crazy. There were like 500 lawsuits. But it worked:

over at the bad place, maga oriented accounts with blue checkmarks are definitely getting the missouri redistricting situation completely correct. (actually, it's the complete opposite of what "patriot oasis" said. voters are getting ballots with the 2022 maps now... not the "new lines.")

I wouldn't be surprised in the future if taking GLP-1s was not seen as a big deal or a revelation, especially as more research is done on them and the treatments produce fewer side effects. Also wouldn't be surprised if insurance companies embrace them (since they could reduce other diseases).

Technically today was the deadline to send out military ballots. There was no decision made by the 8th Circuit on Onder/Brattin's lawsuit. At this point, I really don't see what that court can do ... Even if they try to get around SCOTUS' stay, you have to think SCOTUS would shut that down quickly.

So it's 5 P.M. No ruling from the 8th Circuit. A lot of county elections officials are sending off their military ballots today (the deadline is technically tomorrow). You never want to say it's over until it's over. But how would the 8th Circuit functionally bring the 7 to 1 map back now?

This is why I've said watch the Kansas Senate race. The Democrats recruited an A+ candidate and, with all due respect to him, Marshall is just not a good candidate. Also: Kansas has elected a statewide Democratic official (Laura Kelly in 2022) more recently than Missouri (Galloway in 2018).
