Seems like if you're going to make a national story out of Hasan Piker, who campaigned a few times with the Democratic Senate candidate in Michigan, saying Israel causes antisemitism, you should also make a national story out of the favorite intellectual of the US Vice President supporting Hitler.

On National Poetry Day, here’s a short poem about the power of poetry to change the world.
The Power of Poetry

with things falling apart
and anarchy let loose,

it was only poetry, he found,
which had any use,

so he reached for his copy
of The Complete Works of Yeats

and bludgeoned the President
of the United States

It's not that I think they have a super-secret plan to overturn the elections and seize power, but you're watching an entire political party, from top to bottom, meme itself into convincing itself that its opponents are inherently illegitimate, and that road doesn't go anywhere good.

Here’s the truth: Americans across the political spectrum are fed up with corruption and with rich people calling the shots while everyone else struggles. Economic populism has real legs. Standing firm and enforcing the law isn’t just the right thing to do. It’s the politically smart thing too.

“NOT YOUR USUAL CABLE NEWS CHATTER: Last night on The Weeknight on MS NOW, Ohio Democratic Representative Joyce Beatty recounted a recent exchange she had with Donald Trump at a meeting of the Kennedy Center board, on which she sits. Trump, appearing remotely, was informed that he’d lost in court again (the case is captioned Beatty v. Trump), at which point Beatty said Trump "went into a tirade": "It was the most unprofessional thing I have ever witnessed." She said he called her "obstructionist," "dumb," and "incompetent." She insulted him back. The MS NOW hosts listening to the story were slack-jawed. The look on Eugene Daniels’s face at 1:18 is alone worth watching in this remarkable segment.”

By Wendell Berry, RIP:
They Sit Together on the Porch

They sit together on the porch, the dark Almost fallen, the house behind them dark.
Their supper done with, they have washed and dried The dishes-only two plates now, two glasses, Two knives, two forks, two spoons-small work for two.
She sits with her hands folded in her lap, At rest. He smokes his pipe. They do not speak, And when they speak at last it is to say What each one knows the other knows. They have One mind between them, now, that finally For all its knowing will not exactly know Which one goes first through the dark doorway, bidding Goodnight, and which sits on a while alone.

If impeachment couldn't work against a defeated, out-of-power insurrectionary who put Congresspeople's lives in danger, there's no reason to think it would ever work. The Constitution thus lacks any functional way to get rid of a bad chief executive & so isn't even a minimally adequate plan of govt.
