Random style question, that I'm wondering if anyone has a good solution for: Often, when I refer to the office of "president" in my writing, my intuition is not to capitalize it. Depends a little bit on context, but let's just go with that. But you kind of *have* to capitalize "Vice President"

One of the many reasons why I reject this idea is because I really dislike - no, I HATE - the notion that a demographic being maintained at state expense means they are "entitled" or whatever. I will be old one day, I want there to be a robust pension infrastructure.

I think that is true, but I do not think it is necessarily an immutable law of the American Voter. It is a product of leadership and culture made up of individual decisions. It's a feedback loop, in part, of political leaders telling voters that it is right and good and just to be that way.
