Brilliant example sentence. Dictionaries should give more like this, please: 「彼は手足もろとも縛られ車のトランクに押し込まれた。」 "He was bound hand and foot and crammed into the trunk of the car."

I was out for a walk when I came across these orange fruiting bodies -- not that they're hard to miss. On a gray day, they seem almost neon. They look like cinnabar polypore, but I'm not sure. Anyway, I like the name. "Cinnabar." May your walks, too, be enlivened by fungus.

A worker died at an Amazon warehouse in Oregon last week. For more than an hour, workers were instructed to continue working as the man lay dead. One worker wanted to help, but a manager told them to “Just turn around and not look. Let’s get back to work," according to @thewesternedge.bsky.social.

now i'm seeing authors getting pumped about AI translations - and cheap AI-assisted translations (first pass is AI, then refined by translator) i feel like these people are not valuing their own writing, or the complex work translators do. it's not really a word-for-word thing.
