AP Stylebook warns against anthropomorphizing AI systems: “Avoid language that gives them human characteristics… Instead, explain what a system does, how well it performs, who built it and who could be affected by it.”

Artificial intelligence systems do not think, feel, want or understand. Avoid language that gives them human characteristics. This is called anthropomorphizing, when we ascribe human traits, emotions or behaviors to non-human things, such as animals or inanimate objects.
Instead, explain what a system does, how well it performs, who built it and who could be affected by it.

Commuters urged to contact their TDs over 15-35% public transport fare hikes
Public transport passenger groups, opposition parties and student unions have come together to call on people to contact their TDs over the recently announced increase in bus, Luas, and rail fares. The National Transport Authority recently announced that fares for public obligation services would jump 15-35% from the start of 2027, in the same week that Government confirmed it would extend fuel subsidies for motorists.

Email sent to Bord Gais. I included the news article about the boss of Bord Gáis getting £4.5m a year. #speirgorm
You are literally subsidising data centres through discounted electricity and cheaper gas (as compensation for supply interruptions!)
and you want to add 9.1% and gas unit rates by 10.6% and standing charges for electricity by 7.2% and standing charges for gas will
increase by 7% to my bills.
Data centres are now accounting for 25% of electricity use, the highest in Europe.
There are no external circumstances, you're just gouging during a cost of living crisis,
No harm to the person reading this who is probably on a minimum wage and suffering but I hope the executives choke on their caviar.Chris O'Shea, CEO of Centrica, has a pay package of £4.5m
The boss of Bord Gis Energy and British Gas's parent company has said there
is "no point" trying to justify his £4.5m pay package, as he recognised that
many of his customers were struggling to pay their bills.
Chris O'Shea, who runs Centrica, told BBC Breakfast that "you can't justify a
salary of that size".
RTE | 100 News Sport Entertainment Business Lifestyle Culture Gaeilge
"That's the first bonus I've taken in my time at Centrica, for a number of years,
I've given up bonuses because of hardships that customers were facing,” he
added.
*I thought it was right that we put a lot of our money, a lot of our profits, into
supporting customers. But you can't justify a salary of that size,” Mr O'Shea
said today.
"You can't, because it's a huge amount of money to anybody looking at this."
Asked why he accepts such high pay, the chief executive pointed to the
presenters sitting around him.
"I suppose for the same reason, | mean, if you look, the average salary in the
UK is around £30,000," he said.
"All of us sitting here on this sofa will make substantially more than £30,000.
It's not for me to set my own pay. It's not for you to set your own pay," he said.
"But you've got to recognise that when you've got people who are struggling,
and | look at my mum who's on the basic state pension, it's just impossible to
justify, so there's no point in trying to do that,” he added.

Public transport fares going up. Streaming services price increases. And now, from Bord Gáis: "From 9 October, electricity unit rates will increase by 9.1% and gas unit rates by 10.6%*. Standing charges for electricity will increase by 7.2% and standing charges for gas will increase by 7%*."
