Listen, if you’re not happy single, you won’t be happy in a relationship either, happiness comes from picking a new hobby and then buying all the things to start that hobby then finding the perfect little storage container for those things and then putting that storage container in the spare room

Ok I know this out there, but a time traveler from the future left this book behind. Basically Biff with the sports almanac, except it’s a world history textbook from 2094 about the era we’re living through. Surreal. Not in a fun way. frankramblings.com/blog/2026/03...

Found: A History Textbook From 2094
The most unsettling part of finding a U.S. history textbook from 2094 would be seeing our current chaos explained with the clarity of hindsight.

I'm not a developer. This started with an idea: what if I could just see both timelines in one place? Thanks to Claude Code, that idea is now a reality. If you try it, I genuinely want to hear what you think. This is beta. Your feedback shapes what it becomes. testflight.apple.com/join/EhYZnjd2

I’ve been living in both Mastodon and Bluesky for a while, and the context switching finally broke me. So I built SocialFusion: a native iOS app that unifies both timelines in one feed. Public beta launches Thursday. Countdown + details: frankramblings.com/socialfusion
SocialFusion app promo graphic on a dark blue, circular-gradient background. At left, the SocialFusion logo and name appear above the headline “One Timeline. Every Feed.” and smaller text reading “Mastodon + Bluesky support · Cross-posting · Open Source · Built with SwiftUI.” At right, an iPhone mockup shows the SocialFusion unified timeline with posts and a bottom navigation bar.

The arguments I have received from the pro-ICE world are “it all happened so fast” but looking down your barrel through an open window at the side of a person’s head and pulling the trigger is murder.

Yeah, I know the whole thing is a bit silly, but it made me smile. It’s just mind blowing to me that I can go from and idea to a working app in an hour, without being a programmer!

So now, I can pair my podcasts with any music from my Plex library. And all it took was an hour and a couple of vibe coding tools. Since my podcast app of choice is Overcast, I decided to call my dinky little app Undercast 😜.
Dark splash screen for the iOS app “Undercast,” labeled “A Plex Music Client.” A blue house-shaped music icon appears above the app name. Below is text prompting the user to sign in and a large blue button labeled “Link Plex Account.” iOS status bar is visible at the top.Undercast music library screen in dark mode showing the Albums tab. A grid of George Harrison album covers is visible, including “All Things Must Pass,” “Brainwashed,” “Cloud Nine,” and “The Concert for Bangladesh.” Bottom navigation shows Library, Playlists, Search, and Settings. Now Playing screen in Undercast showing “Here Comes the Sun” by George Harrison from The Concert for Bangladesh. The album cover features a child seated on the ground framed by an arch. Playback controls, progress bar, and volume slider appear on a dark background.

I tweaked it for another 20 mins or so, giving Claude Code a few prompts to refine some details. I designed an app icon in Gemini with Nano Banana and installed it on my phone. Boom. Podcast background music.

I did some research with Perplexity and had it help me write up a spec for a basic SwiftUI audio player that uses the Plex API. I had Cursor flesh it out into a detailed plan. Then Claude Code took that plan and got to work building the app. 20 minutes later, I had a working prototype.

Sometimes I like a little background music to go with my podcasts. So that got me thinking. What if I wrote a music client that plays tracks from my Plex library using AVAudioSessionCategoryAmbient so I can listen alongside my podcasts in Overcast?

Trump to Reuters about the midterm elections: "When you think of it, we shouldn't even have an election." www.reuters.com/world/us/fiv...
MANAGING MIDTERM EXPECTATIONS
The president expressed frustration that his Republican Party could lose control of the U.S. House of Representatives or the Senate in this year’s midterm elections, citing historical trends that have seen the party in power lose seats in the second year of a presidency.
“It's some deep psychological thing, but when you win the presidency, you don't win the midterms,” Trump said. He boasted that he had accomplished so much that “when you think of it, we shouldn't even have an election.”

It’s early, and very much a work in progress. But it already feels nicer to use, which is usually my signal that something’s worth continuing. Almost ready for beta testers! Look out for a TestFlight link soon.

Nothing against existing bridges or apps. This is just me experimenting with a different direction. More opinionated about timelines: what’s shown, what’s not, and how much attention it asks for.

Context: I've never written an app before. I'm not a programmer, just a tech nerd. I’m vibe-coding it as an experiment, focusing on design, feel, and interaction first, and learning as I go.

This isn’t about replacing anything or declaring a “better” way. It’s just me exploring whether a calmer, more unified timeline can exist without feeling busy or overengineered.

I use Mastodon and Bluesky, but I’ve never loved that the people I follow are split across different apps. So I decided to try building my first iOS app to bring both of my feeds together.
A screenshot of a mobile social media feed with a mix of Mastodon and Bluesky content, focusing on two main posts.

At the top, the app interface shows a "Unified" timeline view with a notification button indicating "14 new posts."

The first is a Mastodon post is by Jerry (@jerry@infosec.exchange). His profile picture is an alpaca wearing a blue hat. The post text reads: "I feel like somehow we need to make BGP more resilient by using DNS. 🤔"

The second post is a Bluesky "boost" (repost) from Jerry Chen, originally by Mara Wilson (@marawilson.bsky.social). Her profile picture is a headshot of the actress Mara Wilson. The post text reads: "The other night I dreamed that there was something like the Kardashev scale to see how advanced a civilization was but instead of measuring how much energy they had harnessed it was whether or not they had yet created SpongeBob"

The bottom of the screen shows a navigation bar with icons for Home, Notifications, Messages, Search, and Profile.
