I’ve been living in both Mastodon and Bluesky for a while, and the context switching finally broke me. So I built SocialFusion: a native iOS app that unifies both timelines in one feed. Public beta launches Thursday. Countdown + details: frankramblings.com/socialfusion
SocialFusion app promo graphic on a dark blue, circular-gradient background. At left, the SocialFusion logo and name appear above the headline “One Timeline. Every Feed.” and smaller text reading “Mastodon + Bluesky support · Cross-posting · Open Source · Built with SwiftUI.” At right, an iPhone mockup shows the SocialFusion unified timeline with posts and a bottom navigation bar.

So now, I can pair my podcasts with any music from my Plex library. And all it took was an hour and a couple of vibe coding tools. Since my podcast app of choice is Overcast, I decided to call my dinky little app Undercast 😜.
Dark splash screen for the iOS app “Undercast,” labeled “A Plex Music Client.” A blue house-shaped music icon appears above the app name. Below is text prompting the user to sign in and a large blue button labeled “Link Plex Account.” iOS status bar is visible at the top.Undercast music library screen in dark mode showing the Albums tab. A grid of George Harrison album covers is visible, including “All Things Must Pass,” “Brainwashed,” “Cloud Nine,” and “The Concert for Bangladesh.” Bottom navigation shows Library, Playlists, Search, and Settings. Now Playing screen in Undercast showing “Here Comes the Sun” by George Harrison from The Concert for Bangladesh. The album cover features a child seated on the ground framed by an arch. Playback controls, progress bar, and volume slider appear on a dark background.

I use Mastodon and Bluesky, but I’ve never loved that the people I follow are split across different apps. So I decided to try building my first iOS app to bring both of my feeds together.
A screenshot of a mobile social media feed with a mix of Mastodon and Bluesky content, focusing on two main posts.

At the top, the app interface shows a "Unified" timeline view with a notification button indicating "14 new posts."

The first is a Mastodon post is by Jerry (@jerry@infosec.exchange). His profile picture is an alpaca wearing a blue hat. The post text reads: "I feel like somehow we need to make BGP more resilient by using DNS. 🤔"

The second post is a Bluesky "boost" (repost) from Jerry Chen, originally by Mara Wilson (@marawilson.bsky.social). Her profile picture is a headshot of the actress Mara Wilson. The post text reads: "The other night I dreamed that there was something like the Kardashev scale to see how advanced a civilization was but instead of measuring how much energy they had harnessed it was whether or not they had yet created SpongeBob"

The bottom of the screen shows a navigation bar with icons for Home, Notifications, Messages, Search, and Profile.

Who else has been using Adobe Audition since it was still Cool Edit Pro? ✋
Cool Edit Pro 2.0 splash screen (Windows version) from 2002.A screenshot of Cool Edit Pro, a classic digital audio workstation from the late 1990s and early 2000s, showing a multitrack session. Several colorful waveform tracks are arranged vertically in the timeline, including labeled parts like “ClubBeat,” “DanceBeat,” “Rickenbacker,” “Moog/Trumpets,” and “Latin Perc.” A floating “Mixers” window displays faders, pan controls, and volume meters for each track. On the left, a file browser lists various sound clips with green icons. The bottom of the interface shows transport controls, time display, tempo settings, and a timeline ruler.

Somewhere out there, there’s a version of “Heartbreaker” where Pat Benatar sings “Bootlicker,” and it feels right today.
Tim Cook stands at the Resolute Desk in the Oval Office, presenting a boxed gift with a gold Apple logo to Donald Trump, who stands smiling in the background. Several other suited men observe the exchange. The presidential seal is visible on a podium, and the scene appears formal and staged for media. A chyron from “courier journal” is visible in the upper right corner.

Me learning SwiftUI by vibe coding an iOS app from scratch 🫣
The image shows four people posing with their arms in different positions, reminiscent of semaphore flag signaling. This pose is famously associated with The Beatles' "HELP!" album cover. However, the arm positions in the image do not actually spell "HELP" in semaphore. Instead, the positions correspond to the semaphore letters N U J V (from left to right).

This was a creative decision made for visual balance on the album cover, rather than accurately spelling out "HELP" in semaphore.

What exactly did they expect people to be doing with these tapes??
A person holds a vintage VHS tape box labeled “Apple High Grade Videotape,” featuring a large red apple illustration and grid pattern on the packaging. The box also features rainbow stripes and the word “Durex” printed in small text near the bottom, circled in green.

“We paid $800 for a watch that says Rump” is how we all feel whether we bought the watch or not.
A screenshot from the New York Post shows a close-up of a pink watch face that says “RUMP” instead of “TRUMP,” missing the “T” in former President Trump’s name. The watch also features what appears to be Trump’s signature and gold details on the dial. The article caption reads: “The obvious missing letter from President Trump’s name on the over $600 watch left the couple bummed out.” Below the image, the accompanying text reads:

“I’m very disappointed. I wanted to do a special thing for her. And we expected that it would have the integrity of the president of the United States and good follow-through,” Petit told the local station.

“How could they process this and go through something without checking their work?” said Melanie, who cried as a result of the mistake.

Thanks David! I really appreciate the help. I’ve tried reinstalling the app, switching from the App Store version to the TestFlight version, clearing cache, but no luck. I’m able to log in on desktop without an issue, but mobile always gives me this result.

I need to know everything about this older man at a Wings concert in 1976 who knows the words to "Silly Love Songs" and sings along. What's his story?! youtu.be/HwKUaYBUYNc?...

The focus is on a white-haired man in his 60s singing along to "Silly Love Songs." Below the video, the title, channel name ("PAUL McCARTNEY"), view count, and interaction options such as like, share, and download are visible.

A screenshot of a statement from Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield displayed on a white rounded rectangle against a blue gradient background. The statement addresses misinformation about anesthesia policy changes, clarifying that they will continue covering medically necessary anesthesia services and have decided not to proceed with a proposed policy update.

The statement reads:
“There has been significant widespread misinformation about an update to our anesthesia policy. As a result, we have decided to not proceed with this policy change,” the company said in a statement. “To be clear, it never was and never will be the policy of Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield to not pay for medically necessary anesthesia services. The proposed update to the policy was only designed to clarify the appropriateness of anesthesia consistent with well-established clinical guidelines.”
