for as long as i've been alive, republicans have ran the same playbook: a few weeks before voting begins, they roll out completely fabricated smear campaigns. these things are always coordinated, so the talking points take over the news. the party is never electorally punished for their dishonesty.

Sure, we have a lot of fancy plans as the mayor says, made through the years by our planning commission.
But do we do anything about them, except file them and let them gather dust? In simple truth, we do not.

Anecdotally: I-5 being closed pushed some folks to transit, and this is a brilliant example of a) why we need to just demolish the inner eastside part of I-5 and b) why when we do that it will be just fine.

Fog Lamp Felt like I was walking into Narnia that morning in St. Johns. 📷: Pentax K1000, 50mm f1.7 🎞️: Fuji 400 (It's Kodak, don't lie) #film #photography #filmphotography #BelieveinFilm #pdx
A picture of the deck of a bridge in heavy fog, taken while on it looking down the road. A support structure of the bridge looms in the fog, and an old looking lamp that lights the bridge at night is visible near the foreground. The bridge is painted green, which contrasts with the heavy grey fog surrounding everything.

I think everyone has the right to call themselves what they want and identify themselves however they want. If you try and gatekeep a regional identity from other people that just makes you an asshole.

If you say that you don't think people can move to a place and call themselves residents of that place, or identify with that place, you're just a segregationist. If you try and do it leftishly you're still a segregationist, and also an asshole.

Liberalism is the unrelentingly radical belief that humans stand equal as brothers and sisters in a shared and open society, governed by laws and leaders of their own choosing, free to live lives of their own choosing, finding their own truth and fortune, vested with rights universal and inalienable
