My friend’s dad fell down stairs at his apartment building a few years ago and it had a dramatic impact on his health. My grandparents were just in a car accident because their senior community is in the middle of nowhere. Elevator reform is the answer to preventing all of this.

I have a confession to make. The townhomes I & others spent most of a decade trying to legalize are popping up all over Oregon & elsewhere...and I love that...but they're a problem in one big way. (get ready for a twisty thread about the housing report @sightline.org just published)

ennifer Shuch, Board president of Portland: Neighbors Welcome, an organization that advocates for housing and tenant reforms in Oregon, said the group hopes the zoning process will help create a more diverse Inner Eastside and allow the neighborhood to grow in a way that benefits more Portlanders.
The organization has previously worked with City Council and BPS on housing issues, including the city’s Housing Production Strategy, and Shuch said the zoning project is another opportunity to increase housing production in the city.
