In a paper just out in Big Data & Society (bigdatasoc.bsky.social) we at the GenderSci Lab warn against the growing use of so-called “pink” and “blue” algorithms, arguing that they risk embedding biological sex essentialist assumptions into medicine.

New analysis from CBO of the "Big Beautiful Bill" shows the bottom 20% get poorer, not much change for most of America, & the top 10% get meaningfully richer - and that's before tariffs The "Big Beautiful Bill" was the largest transfer of wealth from the poor to the rich in a single law in history

How much of the "long arm of childhood" works thru intergenerational stratification? Almost all for some health outcomes like psychological distress and self-rated health, but a lot less for others like severe chronic conditions. Heart attacks and stroke are in between.
