We created gyms because modern day work no
longer required physical activity. Without exercise,
our muscles atrophy.
I predict we'll need gyms for our brains too, once Al
starts doing our knowledge work.

Toto releases “Hold the Line” 48 years ago tonight. “.. When I was in high school, all of a sudden the phone started ringing off the hook,” said David Paich. “I had 3 girls all call at the same time, all the lights were flashing. I was kind of juggling girlfriends, and that's how that came about."

The image is of a four panel comic.
The first panel shows a brain. The brain is saying "I'm 30 and YOUNG! I only recently fully developed!"
The second panel shows a heart. The heart says "I hear ya! I can keep going for DECADES more!"
The third panel shows a spine's face. It weakly says, "I am old".
We zoom out and the spine is using a walker. It continues, "so very old".

Glad 60 Minutes is doing a Jacob Wohl story literally nine years after I reported on that guy. One time he was pretending a scam website he was running wasn't his, so I called the number on the website and it went to his mom's voicemail. Jacob is like training wheels for investigative journalists.

I read somewhere once that the joke with Lenny any time he appeared in the Simpsons is just that "he was there", and I think about that a lot. It sounds so counterintuitive but it's so true.

The thing is that there have always been crazy people. The problem with social media is that it allows people to connect with others across the world who share their specific kind of crazy, and it allows those delusional beliefs to get reinforced and grow at speeds we haven't seen before.

I'm reading a book about an Antarctic expedition in which the ship got stuck in the ice and one of the crew turned out daily cartoons for some levity. Here's some of my favourites:
"The terrible fall of the venerable Artocho. 9 May 1898"
A pencil drawing of his character Artocho, legs akimbo on the ice. Pencil drawing of Artocho on the toilet, captioned "Here's the deal: this isn't moving... I continue" "Belgian Antarctic Expedition Barometric Service" Multiple drawings of a man with varying sizes of butt which demonstrates different weather conditions. Artocho pencil drawing, captioned "Here's the deal: I put alcohol in my water bottle and I don't give a damn about Murray. Down with oceanography! Long live joy!

Will GTA be a commercial success? Absolutely. Will it be good? Nah. They’ve already taken the idea of doing things you can just do in real life to its furthest extent. Plus we hate Real Life Stuff now. Driving? After a long day of DoorDashing? Shooting? I can go to school for that.
