Every article about wildfires and wildfire smoke needs to explicitly connect these climate disasters to burning fossil fuels. If we want to breathe clean air and not have our neighbours' homes destroyed by wildfires, we need to stop using public money to subsidize fossil fuel projects. #bcpoli

ICE will no longer publicly report the deaths of immigrants recently released from detention. ICE frames this as "common sense," when in fact, it's an effort to obscure the true number of people who die as a result of being detained—especially now as in-custody deaths surge.

A lot of people, including me, were wondering how an IRB could ever approve this study. The answer is that no IRB did. The person who “signed off” on approval from the only ethics board that reviewed it had resigned three years earlier. His signature was used without his knowledge.

I'm just going to say a thing. What a person looks like is not reflective of their soul. Insulting the appearance of bad people who do bad things as an outcome or indication of their rotten hearts perpetuates the notion that conventional beauty = virtue, a myth that's led to untold human damage.
