Saw a toddler-sized cybertruck in a neighbor's garage and my first thought was man that's bleak but then I realized no, *this* is the version of it that actually makes perfect sense. Should be way more popular than the real thing tbh

Our 4yo boy loves dancing and keeping that alive is like one of my top 10 goals as a parent. Partly because it's a tangible embodiment of so many other goals. Every time he invents some crazy new dance in the car and asks "do you like my moves??" the answer is always always yes.

Not to belabor this metaphor, but when I first saw the headline of Talaricos trans comments, I thought it was a turnover on a needless throw, but after watching the whole video I think it's more like eating the ball and taking a sack on a broken play. Not great, but could have been much worse.

This is exactly why I do subs for live-action, dubs for animation. Another argument in favor of subs for live-action is that (IME) the mismatch between sound and mouth movements is just as distracting as reading subtitles. Not a problem for animation.

It's been another great season for HEB branded stone fruit. I think the Sugar Burst plumcots are the clubhouse leader so far in a competitive field, narrowly beating out the Fireglows. The branded melons, ,meanwhile, have not in my experience lived up to the (high) standard set last summer.

I'm nearing the end of the audiobook of Lonesome Dove and one of my favorite parts is how well McMurtry writes dumb characters. Manages to quickly get to the root of their confusion and show how their conclusions are at least internally rational, even as the reader clearly sees they're wrong.
