Normally I have an orange with my breakfast everyday, but today I was out (& still am, dammit). In a surprise switch-up, however, I had Maduros fried plantain bananas for dinner (pre-fried: I just nuked 'em). Maybe for breakfast tomorrow I can just have a Nutri-Grain bar and go right to the gym? 🏋‍♂️🍌

I've learned a new A DIFFERENT WORLD is coming to Netflix. I did see Jasmine Guy for a hot second, so it's a legacy sequel. But does Cosby get a cut? Netflix seems to be in the sex criminal rehabilitation business @ times, but if Queen Cree Summer clocks in I may need to hold my nose to pay tribute.

After walking thru rain for 20 mins Fri nite I fully kitted up yesterday: hoodie, slicker, umbrella. But besides my trek to the train that morning I suffered only mild rain. As I left work Sat nite I realized I left my umbrella, but figured the worst was over. Anyway, that's why I called out today.

I'm going to be vulnerable for a moment: I thought I'd passed the threshold of spontaneously grieving my cat again, but recently I found myself misting up at the thought of him. I took to petting one of his stuffed effigies while touching his urn in their little shrine.

The sudden drop in temperature has made me remember that for the first time in 17 years this winter I will not have at my disposal an autonomous intra-thigh thermal element, aka a small furry mammal's body heat parked just south of my crotch. Perhaps a hot water bottle in a muff can simulate it.

I just barely made the Rifftrax MST3K, and, uh hmm. Look, it wasn't bad. Much of it was quite funny. The movie was definitely deserving. But it had the same problem as many recent Rifftrax features: long stretches in the 2nd half where not enough of the jokes land. I liked the tardigrade song.

I suppose it's a metric of growth that August passed without my consciously acknowledging it was the 25th anniversary of the events that are largely why I didn't pursue a career in the comic industry. Maybe I'll make a comic. Not necessarily about said events: that's for another day. But a comic.
