Seemingly, the only damage was to my groceries, though I'm watching a finger. After I sat in disbelief (& a puddle) for a few seconds, a very kind gentleman who didn't speak English came along & helped me repack what I could; I got upstairs, showered & changed before retrieving my laundry.

In a moment I realized the worst way to do so would be knees down then pushed by my backpack face first into my bags, so instead I used the momentum of the backpack to flip completely onto my back, all 3 bags cushioning my fall. I even had a second to take off my glasses & hold them aloft.

I usually do laundry & groceries on Thurs. After I put my load in dryers I was omw home, 2 large reusable shopping bags mostly full of various cans & a backpack full of seltzer. SUDDENLY, my right foot caught on my left shoelace. The phrase "arse-over-teakettle" describes what now was a certainty.

I'm lucky that I still have my dad, stepmom & older sister to rely upon. I'm not alone: my mother alienated her entire family and every lifelong friend to maintain a standard of living she believed she deserved and, if I've heard correctly, she doesn't even have that anymore. Per my Fb Memories, today is my 3rd anniversary on Bluesky. Ironically, I post original content on Fb far less now: from my layman's vantage it seems the less I use Meta, the better. After the movie, since I was in the nabe, I did #thriftfu #litotimancy @ my old reliable, even tho I'd been there a few weeks ago: I try not to double dip so soon. I found 4 books (3 GNs), 4 DVDs, a sweatshirt, a holster belt and, for my housemate, a Westbury 8-track player! Total tithe = ~$81.

Normally I have an orange with my breakfast everyday, but today I was out (& still am, dammit). In a surprise switch-up, however, I had Maduros fried plantain bananas for dinner (pre-fried: I just nuked 'em). My late cat was a solidly indoor cat, and he lived to be 18¼. All of my parents' cats are outdoor cats and none have made it to 16. (The one who came closest was overweight so he didn't exactly roam too far from home. Also, they live in the country whereas I'm in NYC.)
