When I was at BYU, it was a huge scandal that the Church was secretly pumping money into the Prop 8 fight in California. Jeffrey R. Holland publicly lied that they didn’t spend “one red cent” on it. I guess they don’t feel the shame anymore to even try to lie about it.

Seems timely to remind people (in light of Nurk having to miss time) that Jaxson Hayes was on video pushing and spitting at his partner with her yelling about not feeling safe and the NBA has seemingly not ever handed down any consequences. Feel bad for Jazz fans who will have to cheer for that.

It will forever make me laugh that there was a con artist who pretended to bend spoons with his mind, and then the creators of Pokemon created a powerful psychic Pokemon who held a spoon in his hand. And then to show it was more powerful, it got more spoons as it evolved.

It’s really surprising how many members don’t know the Church’s real policy. That Idaho statement and Neil Anderson’s recent talks have only added to that confusion. I have to suspect it’s deliberate at this point.

And here's the problem: the Mormon Church allows abortion under the common exceptions ... but lots of individual Mormons do not. Idaho's laws are stricter than the church because voters are stricter than the church (and, by their own reasoning, God).

Makes sense. By the time I served my mission in 2006, that book was banned from most missions, as it caused so many missionaries to leave early. I should have realized that something was wrong with the Church if a book written by a prophet was acknowledged as being harmful to missionaries.

Today, I saw the same poster go on a glowing rant about a certain song they loved and how everyone in the world needed to listen to it. I decided to give them a taste of their own medicine by repeating their exact words from their Coyote rant. In conclusion: I am quite proud of this block.

Me replying to someone who blocked me: “One thing that I really struggle with is “but it’s good!” does not make media seem any more interesting to me. It might be good! But if it doesn’t first cross the baseline threshold of looking interesting to me, I don’t care.”

The irony here is that the person who blocked me used those exact same words to explain why they weren’t going to see the Coyote movie. But they didn’t appreciate it when I used those words to respond to them hyping up a song they liked.
