It's funny to me that people go to Europe on vacation and navigate those cities on foot, transit, bike, or train. Yet, some of those same people will say those modes of transportation can't be done in Halifax. I mean, the downtown core of Halifax was built by settlers from Europe!

I reported an incident to police of a driver honking, yelling, riding my ass, and trying to pass me on a narrow local street bikeway. The cop who followed up with me had the audacity to say the driver was upset that I stopped to yell at her to read the road signage and indicate it’s single file…

What I really want people to notice is that deaths and injuries are up and projected to remain high. Our interventions are becoming less effective. Councillors on TSC accepted this info and did nothing with it. So more people will continue to die. This is a systemic and leadership failure.

Polling from the Atlantic Offshore Wind Coalition (AOSWC) found strong support for offshore wind development in Nova Scotia – as long as it’s done right. Across age groups, genders and political affiliations, nearly 3 out of 4 respondents (73 per cent) held positive impressions of offshore wind.

We don't even need to use that many, add a gap of 1m between them & you get a free one for every 3 you add, whilst also allowing water & people to exit where needed. We could redo Main St in a single night if combined the space of both bike lanes on a single side (preferably Dave's market side)...

I don't think city staff know that bollards exist. We can build infrastructure that eliminates fatal errors, but we'd have to be willing to wreck some car bumpers.
