Today, September 30th, is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, when we remember and honour the thousands of Indigenous children who were stolen from their families as part of Canada’s colonial project. EAC is committed to doing our part, as Treaty people here in unceded Mi'kma'ki.

This harvest season has been brimming with bountiful bouquets at the Common Roots Urban Farm. These luscious bunches were made possible by Bell Let’s Talk, who funds the patient programming at the hospital nearby and bouquets are delivered to the hospital to brighten the place up! Thank you!

🌳 Clearcutting, spraying glyphosate-based herbicides and other industrial forestry practices are making Nova Scotia’s forests more susceptible to wildfire. 🌲 To better protect people and communities, all levels of government must take serious, meaningful action.

Private interests keep trying to co-opt Nova Scotia’s Provincial Parks and Park Reserves because the Provincial Parks Act is outdated, leaving special places like Cape Split Provincial Park at risk of delisting (losing park protections) and private development.

⛔️ Imagine if Crystal Crescent Beach Provincial Park was suddenly sold off to become a private waterfront hotel. As ludicrous as this might sound, this is possible according to the Hoston government. 🌲Did you know that Provincial Parks and Park Reserves can be de-listed without public consultation?

Instead children could be taken to school with quieter, safer electric school buses- they’re a great way to protect children’s health & safeguard the environment.
