End of an era. #Zilog EOL'd the #Z80 over two years ago, now parent IXYS/Littelfuse issue EOL notification for all MCU lines. Got my first Z80 in a #ZXSpectrum in '83 then #SAMCoupe in '93. Made my own Z80 stuff since late 90s. Designed industrial equipment with eZ80 in 2003, plus co-pro on SAM.
EOL notification for all Zilog MCU.

Judith Butler Apology Form
Date:
Reason for behavior:
( ) The media convinced me that feminism was solved in the 1980s
( ) I miss not thinking about gender
( ) I was jealous of their nonbinary swag
( ) I never actually read their work
( ) I didn't realize how much of society is built on gender
( ) Mercury was in retrograde

( ) I will hereby respect Judith Butler and I will NOT talk down on the best feminist thinker of our lifetimes

Look, guys, if the dangerous terrorist boat people from Iran etc DO turn out to have just been some chancers trying to nick some poorly-guarded diesel they should never let Farage forget it. Every interview just asking him about his crime money and the Diesel boys he said were boat guys on a loop.

Doctor Who pitch? Sanjeev Bhaskar's Doctor, a fresh out of drama school Companion and an unreliable Tardis - at least one Mackenzie Crook written episode, some pure Historicals, a few present day small scale alien incursions and a finale that doesn't build to 'End of the Universe' stakes.

Before semiconductor RAM, most computers used magnetic core memory. This is the 32 KB core stack from the computer on Spacelab, the Space Shuttle's experimental laboratory. Let's take a closer look...
The core stack from the Spacelab computer. This is a stack of six rectangular circuit boards, joined by blue connectors on each end. The cores are visible on the top board. The 294,912 cores are way too small to see; there are eight large reddish-brown squares, each holding a region of cores. 18 reddish and greenish stripes are slightly visible, showing regions for the 18 bits of storage.

The image is of a four panel comic.
The title above the first two panels reads, "Dog Toys".
The first panel shows Sarah, the protagonist, holding a bone shaped dog toy. She says, "Look!"
The second panel shows a dog wagging its tail. There is a speech bubble leading back to Sarah saying "It squeaks!"
The title above the last two panels reads, "Cat Toys".
In panel three we see Sarah again. She says "Come, child."
Panel four shows a cat raising its paws in glee. We see Sarah's hands holding cat nip. We see a speech bubble leading back to Sarah saying "It is time to do drugs".

Here’s the thing about Y2K, the ozone layer, etc. The most leftist—in the sense of *valuing labor*—thing you can do is reject the brainwashing that tells you that heroism is running into a burning building and not the slow, patient, boring, unglamorous work of *preventing* disaster.

I have no obligation to reduce my quality of life because liberalism is once again trying to pathetically roll over in the face of an astroturfed campaign against “the other”. There are only two sides here. Handwringing about “backlash” to “labels” is definitely choosing one of those sides. (4/4)

Upcoming alerts in this series include - always follow the country code - don’t dazzle, dip your headlights - we’re all going to die in a nuclear inferno in the next three minutes - thought for the day: “it’s nice to be nice”
Severe Alert
Issued by the UK Government
There is a very high risk of wildfires nationally. Residents, landowners and visitors should not undertake any activity that could start a fire, including disposable barbecues, firepits, garden incinerators or fireworks. Even a small flame can rapidly develop into a major wildfire placing lives, homes, businesses and emergency responders at risk.
Follow official updates and report signs of fire immediately by calling 999. Search gov.uk/alerts for more information.

Water nationalisation for our water security? End north sea oil & gas - invest in renewables for our energy security? A maximum workplace temperature for worker security? No. A request not to sell BBQs. This is dire from Andy Burnham. Spectacularly mishandling the crisis.
Burnham had faced calls from the green party to chair a cobra meeting on the heatwaves with leader Zack Polanski accusing the pm of inaction amid threats to public health and food supplies
