I think there’s a misunderstanding of the term “EU Accession negotiations”. Negotiation, in this sense, is primarily over how and by when an applicant will implement or align with each area of EU law (Acquis Communautaire), and then whether they‘ve done that. It’s not over *whether* they will.

When trump backs down and cancels his lawsuit, the BBC should turn and sue him for harassment & possible extortion using his original lawsuit as an example of him filing fake lawsuits and STILL demand trump’s financial records as evidence that his lawsuit was a lie to harass and extort a settlement.

Has America Crossed the Asshole Threshold?
Civilizations can carry a surprising number of parasites and live. But there’s a line — Rome crossed it, the Gilded Age toed it, and for the first time in history, we can measure it.

I have not so fond memories of St Sepulchre, Holborn Viaduct, when I first sang there in the 90s - the gas fired hot air heating had to be turned off at least 20 minutes before a rehearsal or service to allow the organ to settle into tune, and even with the heating on it was a very cold building.

I believe anyone could have done better than Johnson. Here's a quiz I made to prove it.
Covid quiz

There is a disease working through Europe. The Italian PM sends a letter saying how bad it is and it’s heading your way; Do you
A.	Prepare the NHS
B.	Limit social interactions
C.	Allow European teams & supporters to travel to UK & let the Gold Cup go ahead

The disease is here. You’re asked to visit a hospital, Do you:
A.	Refuse as it would hinder staff
B.	Attend, but follow medical advice
C.	Shake hands with the infected and catch the disease

You need to get more PPE; Do you
A.	Go to existing suppliers
B.	Go to similar suppliers with experience
C.	Go to your bar tender, mate, family member who have just started up a PPE company

A new variant is discovered in India. Do you
A.	Stop all flights from India
B.	Quarantine those arriving
C.	Do nothing

Anything other than 4 Cs and you’d have done better than Johnson.

Look, for fuck’s sake, humans have been migrating continuously for our entire existence. Every single human in the world is the product of migration. It’s what humans do. There is nothing *more* human. That’s never going to change. Just grow up, get the fuck over it and plan accordingly.

Following Braverman’s lead, I am going to rewrite my mortgage contract with my bank, stripping out my obligation to pay interest or repay the loan, and replacing them with obligations on the the bank to pay for repairs on my home.
Suella Braverman has unveiled her legal blueprint for how the UK could quit the European Convention on Human Rights

In a 56-page document, the former home secretary and attorney general says the UK should rewrite the 1998 Belfast Good Friday Agreement, stripping out ECHR references and replacing them with domestic UK and common law human rights principles.
