someone from the riaa help me out. what's it come to at this rate? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trade_g...
excerpt from the Wikipedia article "Trade group efforts against file sharing":

In Capitol v. Thomas, a Minnesota mother was ordered to pay $222,000 ($9,250 per song) in damages to the RIAA for illegally sharing 24 songs on Kazaa. Before they first sued, the RIAA offered a settlement of $5,000, which Thomas refused. After three trials and multiple appeals, at one point of which statutory damages awarded were $1,920,000, the Supreme Court refused to hear Thomas's case in March 2013. Thomas maintains that it will be impossible for the RIAA to collect the $222,000 fee due to her inability to pay.

the second paragraph of this article describes it as "the Labour government rule". actually good writing for once. authoritarian policies don't appear out of thin air. every journalist should ascribe them to their authors www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

3. Share information on your risk register to everyone with power and responsibility. Refuse to sit quiet while children's lives are being completely destroyed. Speak up. Rebel loudly. Centre child safety. Refuse to be complicit in actions that will lead to children's deaths.

2. Start a risk register with the risk of trans child death at the very top. Document the enormous harm. Document explicitly the serious risk to life. Document the risk to children dropping out of education. Document the increased violence. Document clearly how acute harm is caused by policy.

Trans people are banned from everything and can barely name their oppressors lest they are monstered by the media and in parliament. Never mind the threat of jail for not disclosing being trans before a sexual encounter or even for saying some shit. It's surreal being trans in the UK right now.

I've studied so many concentration camps through history that held vulnerable people in just this kind of crowded squalor. You demonize people, you demand more arrests, this is what you get. It already has its own budget and its own momentum, and is on track to go much further, unless we stop it.

My hottest “I have no data to back this up” take is that phones aren’t making young people less happy. What’s making them less happy is living in a world where everyone is having their reality defined by recommendation algorithms that can only care about whether something keeps you watching.
Young adult happiness is falling. Percent of young people who are pretty or very happy has dropped from 88% to 76% over the last 15 years after having held fairly steady between 1980 and 2010

They never ask the question of the evidence of harms from withholding treatment. Despite the fact they found no evidence of harms from HRT. Wihtholding treatment from a population like this is not a neutral act, it is an intervention in and of itself. One that has no basis in medicine.

The reviews used to justify this excluded nearly 97% of all studies from inclusion in their analysis. This is an absolutely obscene hatchet job by the NHS specifically created to eliminate access to hormones for trans youth.
"A data table summarizing the results of a literature review on various hormone therapy interventions for binary and non-binary groups. It lists ten intervention categories, detailing the number of full texts assessed, studies included, and studies excluded for each. The bottom row shows a total of 547 texts assessed, 17 studies included, and 530 studies excluded."

I spend the first few seconds screaming about how I'm on the Titanic, we've just hit an iceberg, the end is near, and I need immediate assistance.
I then do the rest of the meeting normally.
When the meeting ends, everyone gets an emailed transcript where the Al summary is:
